You might witness bandhs, and weird demonstrations here, but you never see drunken aggression and hooliganism happening in India. I think it because less people drink here anyway (many instead take soft drinks), but even those that do drink alcohol, drink it differently. It is done socially, but not in excess. You don see people downing shot after shot of tequila, pint after pint of draught beer, or pouring glasses from jugs of potent Long Island Iced Tea, like you might see in the West, then ending up in Accident and Emergency. Somehow the drinking culture is different, and people don drink to excess in India. That is similar to places like Spain and Italy, I guess.

March 13, 2015 at 8:29 pm (11 years ago)I the one who ashamed of my poor vision because I obviously rather have great eyesight instead of eyeballs that grew too long. I started wearing glasses in kindergarten and progressed to about 6 or 7 in both eyes. Now I have a higher risk of cataracts, retinal detachment, and macular degeneration, and I already have high ocular pressure that could lead to glaucoma, so, not only am I blind and helpless if I lose or break my glasses, I also have a higher risk of becoming blind. Sure, I can get this stuff taken care of, but that means I have to spend time and money and be poked and prodded by annoying medical professionals. I also might have inherited my father poor hearing, so my future senses do not look or sound bright at all. I 19 and for the past several years I pretty much leveled at around 3.5 in both eyes. My parents keep saying the main reason is because I spend so much time looking at screens like my computer and my phone. No idea if this is true or not, but I suspect that it can possibly be because of that. Also, they think I don eat much nutrients like carrots. Again, no idea if that would actually have an effect. What I now believe to be the main cause of my poor eyesight is genetics. Before yesterday, I had no idea how bad my parents eyes were. When I asked them after our test yesterday, I found that my dad has pretty good vision (around .75) and then my mom literally around the same as me ( 3.25ish). So I guess it is possible it is just due to genetics?
