You see the bins out for your local fire department every holiday season. Donate a toy for those in need, and the firefighters will make sure it gets into their hands. It’s an amazing gesture, and is one of the many reasons we, the public, love the Fire Department.
It’s not every day though that you see those barrels full of complete skateboards, not to mention a limited edition pro wheel to go with it. If you pulled up to the SFFD’s skate event a couple weeks ago though, that’s EXACTLY what you would have seen.
DLXSF and Lowcard teamed up to create a special sect of the toy drive solely for skateboarding, while Spitfire designed a wheel to honor Engine 29 of the SFFD. Over 100 completes were assembled and given out to groms hungry to shred. Not to mention an A-list lineup of rippers showed up to give a few lessons, and a fantastic display of trickery to get the next generation hyped. Hell, even Santa Claus himself showed up to bust a few tricks before dishing out stickers to those in attendance.
Nothing feels better than seeing the spark get lit for the kids out there, so to participate in such an event was an extremely memorable experience. The SFFD should absolutely keep this one going – plus, it’s not every day the fire station gets a demo from Seegull and Chico Brenes.

That’s a lot of Christmas Completes!
Is that Santa yet? Nah, that’s just Sage Wilko with some trucks.
Seegull testing out the hydrant with some serious pop
This guy was just full of Christmas cheer
The kids are absolutely hyped
Jim Thiebeau is obviously a skate original, so he had to show some of the kids how it’s done.
Some kids picked it up really quickly
Magnethead had to show both the public, and his co-workers how it’s done.

Pete Piazza was also getting down on this wall
Everybody’s favorite Chico Brenes was also there to teach the youth a thing or two
That classic Chico style – this is what everybody came out for at 9 AM on a Saturday

Magnethead and…wait…is that SANTA?!
Holy shit, that is Santa!
Did y’all know Santa could get air like that? And that Santa skates for Anti-Hero?
Santa couldn’t stop by without handing out some stickers
These are the real heroes though
Everyone got busy on that wall. Sage Wilko gave us all this very stylish rock n’ roll
Seegull blunted and popped (to fakie)
Matt Gotwig showed up to show everyone how to do the perfect pivot pop out to fakie
