When Jason “Wee Man” Acuna told us he wanted to a photo show at our Chinatown shop, we couldn’t have been more stoked to accommodate. I mean, this isn’t just a major player in the Jackass franchise, Wee Man has seen the highs and lows of skateboarding throughout his lifetime. From working in the World Industries warehouse, to being sponsored by Bitch skateboards, then appearing in Shaquille O’Neal music videos, and being involved with Chronic Tacos – this is a guy who has seen and done it all.
His premise for the show was simple: come to SF for a few days, mingle with the people, and shoot some photos. The final result was one hell of an evening at the shop featuring the photos he shot during his trip here. Photos are still on display at the Lowcard Chinatown shop, and we still have a limited amount of shirts available at the store, so get in on the action while you still can.
And if you can’t make that happen, please enjoy some film from the big opening shot by Theodore Maider. Thank you again for making this happen Wee-Man, the stoke was at an all time high.
Wee Man was the artist and big guest of honor. He was very good at making friends.
He was also kind enough to sign things for everyone who pulled up. Here he is signing ultra rare Big Brother trading cards.
Magnethead spent most of his evening bartending with Breanne helping maintain the high demand for alcohol.
As per usual, the block was very hot.
Jethro pulled up and did a one man demo.
Some of skateboarding’s finest lensmen were in attendance – photographer Daniel Stelly and filmer Kaylanne Diaz are officially SF locals again.
Potrero locs pulled up. Jake stuntin’ for the camera.
East Bay heads were in attendance as well.
As well as a true East Bay icon, Jason Ross who handles East Bay Crust Zine. Pick some up at the shop!
There was a lot going on out front…
Lowcard merch was selling like hot cakes.
Hayden Wears a Hat – how about that?
Nick @ Night having a moment of clarity
The whole night was a balancing act. Fernie mastered it.
Humboldt’s finest – Nate and Rory.
True Bay Area legends – Julian Gibson, Justin Marks of Low Key, and Tomo
People were passing around this nasty Buzz Ball all night – don’t do it, Liki.
Seegull on the other hand knows no fear.
It ain’t a Chinatown party if the Outta Sight Pizza crew doesn’t pull up.
Good old fashioned dice game going out front.
OGs – Seb and Cutty Ian
If you squint, you can see Christafa “ATD” James doing a coffin rock to fakie.
Between some minor explosions, the kids were able to get souveniers.
The night came to a close in the best possible way: with the cops showing up because we had too good of a time. Magnet as usual was able to smooth things over.
Thanks again to Wee Man for bringing a good time and a great show. Lowcard loves you.
