Being a skate filmer, let alone one who remains in the underground but continues to put out great videos every few years, requires a lot of understanding. You need to understand quality angles to keep things fresh, new spots people probably haven’t seen before, and also the history of yourself, your relationships with the skaters, and your local history. Kevin Vongkhamchanh, aka KVTV Productions, understands all that plenty.
I have been lucky to know Kevin for a long time, and his attention to detail and drive to make something special have always surpassed every other desire. This isn’t about “changing skateboarding,” this is about making something he and the people around him are happy about. That’s why he brings us Baysian 2, the sequel to his last full length that ties in his (and the majority of the riders in this project) personal cultural heritage with the thing that gives him the most happiness in life: skateboarding. This time, Kev gets IN FRONT of the camera, along with shredders Gio Monstajo and Justin Le, and features footage from Kyle Smith, Marcus Breckenridge and Gabe Nunez.
